Review: Fantasy Grove Utun Centaur Dildo

Fantasy Grove’s thick centaur dildo, Utun, takes the popular shape of equine dildos and reimagines it with a shorter length while keeping the characteristic flare. It’s got the flare, the ring, and the curve to make it stand out. It’s a great option for those who prefer girth over length while keeping the design straightforward.

Design & Specs

Fantasy Grove features characters from a mythical grove, with products ranging from high-detail fantastical designs to beginner-friendly, harness-compatible models. They excel in creating unique colorations, crafting masterpieces with difficult techniques that take a lot of skill. I’ve already reviewed their popular harness-friendly Daybreak dildo, pierced Jackalope dildo, and G-spot focused Changeling dildo, all of which I quite like.

My current collection of toys that are carried by Fantasy Grove.

Utun, like many of Fantasy Grove’s models, is represented by a furry character: A gentle centaur with luxurious locks who looks handsome and perfect to snuggle up with. The art is gorgeous and sets a beautiful scene of Utun relaxing with a good book at dawn. His frame would pair well with the short and thick cock depicted by the dildo.

The dildo’s stout shape, thick ring, and rounded features all give it a clearly stylized look. As much as I love the sensation of skin texture, I’d rather have an obviously stylized design like Utun than a realistic horse cock. In hand, it’s satisfyingly chunky. The surface has a smooth, low-gloss satin finish, giving it a low shine while keeping a moderate amount of friction.

In medium size, Utun only has a usable length of about 6″, but the flared head is a very generous 2.5″ diameter (7.5″ circumference), and the medial ring is just shy of that at 2.2×2.25″ diameter (7.25″ circumference). The upper shaft averages around 2″ diameter (6″ circumference) and the lower shaft is around 2.2″ diameter (7″ circumference).

My Utun is in split firmness, featuring a Near Clear shaft in firmness 00-31 and a base in medium firmness 00-50 (similar to my split firmness Changeling). The shaft is a little firmer than typical soft firmness 00-30 and it’s decently squishy.

The color is called Prancing with Unicorns. The base is off-white and the shaft is a finely ribboned marble of pink, blue, purple, silver holo, and colorshift. It’s ultra sparkly and beautiful enough to earn its name. I’m a huge fan of ribboned marbles like this, especially with unpigmented silicone in the mix to add depth, and Near Clear makes the unpigmented parts even more clear. There’s some yellow/gold in the stock photo that I don’t really see in person unless I’m in a room with yellow-tinted light.

Medium size Utun starts at $105 and is available from inventory drops or custom ordered through made-to-order options. Near Clear comes with an upcharge and is not available for custom orders, so my Utun cost $125 from inventory.

However, I got a stellar deal: Fantasy Grove ran a buy-one-get-one-free Boxing Day sale after Christmas 2024, so I got a $120 value dildo for free. (Yes, they’re both soft, which doesn’t always work out for me, but one of my favorite dildos that I haven’t reviewed yet is a flared dildo in soft, so I figured I’d give it a shot.)

In Use (Vaginal)

Utun’s prominent flare and ring appeal to me—I really enjoy a strong flare to press against my front wall and a good medial ring to pop in and out of my entrance—but I was really curious if the shapes would actually work out; small differences in shape design can make the difference between a dildo that’s okay and one that’s amazing.

The flared head is naturally angled and between the softness, the shape, and sufficient lube, it’s not as difficult to insert as some other flared dildos. It has a satisfying pop when entering. I wouldn’t call it easy since the head is wider than my usual comfort zone and the round shape (rather than oblong) can make for a challenge, but the natural angle of the head makes it a little easier to maneuver.

Utun’s flared head gives me the strong front wall pressure that I want from a flare. With up to half the shaft inserted, I get constant front-wall pressure with some focused G-spot pressure, without being harsh on the back wall. Even though it’s in a softer firmness than I normally go for, I can feel it pretty strongly. It is most intense before I’m fully warmed up, and feels a little less strong once I am warmed up.

The medial ring is well designed: Large enough to be felt, thick and rounded enough to be comfortable, and not so thick that it would be a challenge. It’s a nice strong bump at my entrance with every thrust, made slightly less intense than it could have been with the generous height of the ring. The size and shape make it such that I can feel the ring, but it glides buttery smooth in and out. The ring enhances the underside of the curve, which, when aimed against my front wall, provides broad pressure against my G-spot.

A lot of equine dildos have a ton of length, which can make it difficult to reach the medial ring. Utun is relatively short in comparison and has a girthy profile, so it’s easy to reach the ring and feel filled without needing to take a foot-long cock. The girth can make it a little awkward to thrust, but once fully warmed up and with sufficient lube, it makes for a good time.

The balls are easy to hold, but the other side of the base is not as easy. Overall I’d say it’s alright to hold, but ends up straining my fingers because I have to press against the middle of the base to thrust since there’s not that much leverage from holding the base in general, and it requires a bit of force due to the resistance from the thick medial ring.

I can easily get into a rhythm of moderately quick thrusting, feeling the head deep inside of me and the ring sliding in and out. It’s very satisfying. If I go fast and deep, I can feel the head push a little deeper with another pop.

My favorite way to use Utun is to warm up with shallow thrusting to get all that I can from the head. Once warmed up, I turn it so that the underside of the curve is against my front wall, then slowly ride that—popping the ring in and out and feeling it rub against my G-spot—while using a bullet vibrator externally until I come.

Overall

Utun’s prominent flare, thick medial ring, and nice curve make for a low-texture, shape-forward experience that’s excellent for front-wall stimulation and broad G-spot pressure. It’s easy to find a good angle and stick with it, making it especially nice for short, intense sessions. The low texture showcases beautiful colors very well.

I probably would have preferred medium firmness 00-50 so that I could feel the head more strongly after fully warming up, but I don’t regret getting Near Clear 00-31 firmness; it’s gorgeous and not altogether too soft for me.

I’d recommend Utun to anyone who loves a dildo with a strong shape, especially flares and medial rings. For beginners, I’d recommend getting a size in which the head is comfortably within your girth range and not a challenge; it’s not that easy to insert. Due to the intensity of the flare, it should still be fun if dropping down to a softer firmness than usual, as I did here.
