Review: Vulpini Design Hunter Silicone Dildo

I’m a sucker for a classic human dildo, and Hunter fits in among them with its nice shape and realistic appearance. I had to give it a shot in both sizes (and both holes) to see how it held up against the rest of my collection.

Design & Specs

Vulpini Design produces a small lineup of designs with big personality, with stylization and small details giving each model character. They often have customs open for ordering, with options ranging from an on-site menu of pour and color selections to special email requests for particularly unique colorations. I’ve previously reviewed their spiky Sasha dildo.

Hunter features a classic human shape with realistic details, including a pulled-back foreskin and hefty balls. It’s available in a ton of different colors, including classic skin-like colorations and a wide array of fantastical colors. The classic coloration comes in two varieties, dark skin and light skin, each one with a shimmery reddish tip. I am really impressed with how effective the classic coloration evokes real skin by using just a couple of colors and a common pour style. It’s not perfectly realistic, but the tones and style make it work.

When choosing colors, I decided to make one Hunter fit my realistic fantasies and the other have fun colors. My large Hunter is in the light classic coloration, while my small one is a fade of Violet-Brass Glimmer at the tip to Opal Gold at the base. I’m really happy with the outcomes for both of them. I honestly can’t capture the shimmer of the small one that well with a camera; it’s one of my most shimmery toys.

Large Hunter has 7″ usable length, a girth of 6.3″ circumference (2″ diameter) in the middle, and 6.8″ (2.2″ diameter) above the base. Small Hunter has 6″ usable length, a girth of 5.25″ circumference in the middle (1.7″ diameter), and 5.5″ (1.8″ diameter) above the base. In medium firmness 00-50, both are pretty flexible and squishy, with the smaller one feeling a little more so because of the relative slimness.

Large Hunter in classic coloration costs $110, and small Hunter with a two-color fade costs $70. For squishies, small sharks are $15 and tiny beans are $8 for a pack of 5. (The beans are so squishable… I keep squishing the beans on my desk.)

In Use (Vaginal)

I tried both sizes vaginally. I love girth, but I’ve enjoyed some smaller dildos that way, so I gave the smaller one a shot as well.

The texture of the coronal ridge/foreskin folds is surprisingly strong. It’s a lot more like a strong line of texture than a prominent bump, so I get texture but don’t get the pop when it goes in or pressure against my G-spot from that part. Once I get going, it’s fun to thrust it all the way in and out and have the ridge brush against my entrance and the underside of my clit before pushing back in.

The shape allows for focused front wall pressure from the head if I hold it at the right angle. It continues to press against my front wall even when deeper inside, which is great. I can’t quite get it to reliably press against my G-spot, but since the curve is gentle, that’s not a surprise. Sometimes I need more of a front wall massage than a G-spot pounding.

Due to the smooth finish, lube doesn’t stick that well, so I need to apply more lube than usual. Interestingly, it slides well enough with small amounts of lube, but the friction feels rubbery. It’s just a little too smooth to work with lube the way I want it to.

The large one is very filling and I can fit it almost all the way. Once I’m fully warmed up and lubed up, it’s a treat to go hard and fast with this, varying the angles and rotation of the dildo; the girth, head texture, and front wall stimulation easily push me to the edge when I go hard and fast enough. While I can ride it (and the base makes it easy to do so without tying/holding it down), I strongly prefer thrusting, although the top side of the base is difficult to grasp, which makes it a little tedious.

The small one is large enough that I could enjoy it, but with the need for specific angles for strong front-wall stimulation and with the whole lube situation, it often ends up feeling closer to a plain tube. Good enough for warm-up or a fantasy with a partner that size, but not something I’d use to get myself off. (I’m pickier when going down in sizes, so it would need more texture or a stronger shape to work for me, but I gave it a shot.)

In Use (Anal)

The real reason I got a small one was to see how it would work for anal use—and I love it.

The tip has a gentle taper, allowing it to easily find and enter my hole without much guidance. If I’m not warmed up, the coronal ridge is a little difficult to insert, but not painful.

Once inside, it’s smooth sailing: The smoothness of the shaft helps it glide right in. I’m a lot more sensitive when using dildos anally, so where the lack of texture is a drawback for vaginal use, it’s something I prefer for anal use. Small Hunter is really comfortable and the girth is filling without feeling like I’m being stretched.

I can distinctly feel every inch of Hunter. The medium firmness is hard enough for me to always be very aware of it. Softer dildos can feel plush and very comfy, which can be nice for anal use especially when something’s stretching me out, but medium firmness works really well for Hunter in this size. The texture of the coronal ridge feels pretty mild, but like the rest of the dildo, I feel it wherever it is inside of me.

Hunter’s gentle curve makes it convenient to use at any angle, although I have a small preference for the underside against my front wall (like doggystyle). Some dildos have too much of a curve for me to comfortably use them anally at all angles, and I find a gentle curve (or no curve at all) works well for anal use.

When against a high-friction surface like a towel, I can mostly ride hands-free thanks to the weight of the base. I prefer riding over thrusting for this one.

I can combine both sizes for double penetration: large for vaginal at the same time as small for anal. Since both sizes are comfortably within my girth range and not pushing my limits, it’s a good fit, although having the heads side-by-side can get more intense than I prefer. Conveniently, the balls of small Hunter can sit atop the balls of large Hunter (when the balls are facing each other), making riding this way a lot easier than I expected (at the cost of only being able to insert large Hunter about halfway).

Overall

Hunter takes a classic shape and keeps things simple with a straightforward design. It is on the gentler side with a smooth shaft and subtle curve, making it very approachable. Vulpini offers a lot of customization through both semi-realistic and fantastical colors.

For vaginal use, I tend to look for something with more “oomph,” but I can bump up Hunter’s intensity by using it fast and hard. For anal use, it’s pretty much the perfect size and shape for me, with the lack of texture offering the smoothness I need.

I would recommend Hunter for those who are new to indie dildos, those who want a human dildo in fun colors, or those who want a realistic dildo with low texture.
