Tentacle dildos are a staple of the fantasy sex toy market, and it’s no surprise considering how popular tentacles are in furry art and hentai. Who doesn’t love a wiggly fella who will show you a good time? With the variety that’s out there nowadays, the choice can seem overwhelming. I went through my collection to determine what I enjoy most in a tentacle, why I like the ones I do, and what recommendations I could make.

Tentacle Traits

Tentacles have a lot of the same traits as other fantasy sex toys, even boasting traits like knots (like the Tentacle Knot II) or coming in the form of plugs (like Haliae). You can get the same wide variety of textures, just in a more tentacle-y shape or style. However, most of them tend towards similar features to sell the fantasy of a tentacle.

Platinum cure silicone is the best material for tentacle dildos. Jelly, latex, and TPE are unsafe by virtue of being porous and/or toxic, but silicone is nonporous and nontoxic while being available in soft firmnesses that are squishy and pleasant.

Glass tentacle dildos are also typically safe (shout-out to high-quality indie shop Simply Elegant Glass, who occasionally makes glass tentacle and knot dildos). While not squishy, the smoothness of glass is wonderful, and some prefer it over silicone.

Suckers can range from super subtle to powerfully prominent. Size, shape, and placement impact how they feel. Some have rounded edges, some lack a dip in the middle (more like bumps than a traditional sucker), and some are detailed or have hard edges.

Suckers make these dildos noisy. If you like wet squelching sounds, then suckers are excellent. If you’re trying to be discreet, it may be better to steer towards something smoother.

Shape is usually a tapered tendril: Slim at the top, thick at the base, with a gentle curve that’s mostly for looks. While curves at the top may be too slim to make a difference in some cases, curves along thicker parts can have a bigger impact as they offer more pressure against certain spots.

Frills can range from a wavy, fluid feeling when soft and thin to a more traditional textured feeling when firm or thick. Like suckers, such prominent texture can be noisy.

The tip makes a big difference. A slim tip can make it enter more easily and is better for depth play (if you’re going past the posterior fornix vaginally or past the first bend anally), but some tips can feel pokey or may be too slim to feel well. A thicker, rounded tip may be more comfortable for some.

Many shops offer multiple firmness options that change the experience. In general, I prefer shore 00-50, which most shops label as medium and which feels like tensed muscle: It offers lots of pressure and presence internally, while also making texture stronger. Suckers can get pretty intense, especially in this firmness. Shore 00-30, which most shops label as soft and which feels like relaxed muscle, reduces both the pressure and the texture intensity. Which firmness works best will be different for everyone. My reviews come from the perspective that I can’t always feel pressure from soft 00-30 and I enjoy moderate to strong texture.

Most dildos come in multiple size options. With tapered tentacles, it can be less of a gamble to risk getting a size too big, because you can still use the uppermost part of the dildo. My comfort zone is a girth of around 2″ diameter (6″ circumference), which is thicker than a typical cock.

Color doesn’t make a difference in sensation, but can heighten the experience mentally. Most fantasy sex toy makers use a variety of colors for inventory and/or custom color selection so that you can find a toy that suits your fantasies or color preferences.

Tentacles With Suckers

Abyssos (Void Touched Creations)

Abyssos from Void Touched Creations is about as classic a design as you can get: Soft, rounded suckers; a beautiful curve; and a tapered tip. The skin folds on one side and the roundness to the tip give it character and the curve makes it seem more alive.

While Void Touched Creations doesn’t yet have an online storefront, they recently confirmed with me that they are available for inquiries about stock and custom pours via email (shown on their linktree in the shop link above). They were lovely to work with on my custom color request and I absolutely love the outcome.

The strong curve makes Abyssos feel like an undulating tentacle whenever it moves. One may think about curves as just a way to make a dildo press against the right spots, but they’re also an excellent way to enhance motion. I think the S-curve shape, with one curve near the tip and a second lower down, is what makes this particularly effective. While the max girth is 2.5″ diameter, the upper curve is 1.5″ diameter, so the top half of the dildo is way more approachable than the lower half.

Normally I would go for a firmer dildo, but I opted for Abyssos in soft 00-30 so the suckers wouldn’t be too intense. Despite the softness, I can feel the shape and suckers on Abyssos pretty well. The girth makes up for the softness, making the dildo filling enough to satisfy me. The prominent shape of the suckers makes them rub delightfully against my front wall, one smooth sucker after the next, and the lower suckers in particular are great at rubbing around my G-spot when I rotate it so that one line of suckers is aligned with the center of my front wall. It’s noisy, which can be a pro and a con, depending on your living situation and personal tastes. However, I can’t feel the wrinkles that well.

I rarely enjoy strong texture against my back wall—strong texture normally irritates that side of my entrance—but with Abyssos, it actually feels good. It’s soft enough not to irritate, and the texture is smooth enough that I like the way it rubs against me.

It’s a little difficult to take the tip all the way with the suckers against my front wall. It’s easier to take when I rotate it around so the tip is facing downwards and is gentler against my cervix.

The base is mostly easy to hold, but for fast or hard thrusting, it’s a little awkward to keep up the pace due to the girth of the lower shaft providing some resistance to being pushed inside.

The combination of the shape and soft suckers puts Abyssos high on my list of tentacle fantasies.

Grick (Wandering Bard Toys)

Grick from Wandering Bard Toys is on the chunky side for a tentacle with a thick shaft, nice curve, and a profile that doesn’t look like a tentacle at all. It’s got the tapered tip and classic suckers of a tentacle, making it kind of like a hybrid between the more typical humanoid dildo shape and tentacle features.

The girth is just right to fill me up, the underside of the curve presses against my front wall nicely, and Wandering Bard’s matte finish gives it a delicious skin-like sensation—just right for my usual tastes. It’s slightly firmer than most of my other toys in medium firmness 00-50, which I enjoy, but makes it less squishy.

Although the details on the suckers are pretty smooth, they feel prominent on account of their bulky size. The texture feels intentional, not noise-like or sandpapery, like large bumps grinding against me inside.

The base is super easy to hold for thrusting, and it’s easy to hold down for riding, but not quite heavy enough for me to ride enthusiastically without holding it down.

The tip is slender enough to slip behind my cervix at some angles, but it gets thick pretty quickly after that, so I don’t reach for Grick to try out depth play. When I don’t get the right angle for that, it bumps against my cervix unpleasantly if I go too hard and deep. If it were half an inch shorter, I think I’d enjoy it a good bit more without having to worry about that.

As far as how tentacle-y Grick feels? It doesn’t. It just has the suckers going for it. It’s not bad, but I’d suggest it as tentacle-inspired more than a tentacle experience in itself.

Ika (Bad Dragon)

Ika from Bad Dragon is one of the most recognizable fantasy dildos out there and what most people probably think of when they think about tentacle dildos. The design is visually appealing and has a taper typical of a tentacle. With how ubiquitous this model is, I wanted to find out: Is it worth the hype?

Ika gets it right with the suckers, particularly when I rotate it so a line of suckers is centered against my front wall. The suckers provide fantastic stimulation, strong and well-defined, like a ripple of texture one after another. It’s noisy, which can be a pro or a con, depending on your living situation and personal tastes.

While I can take it all the way, it doesn’t feel like a depth toy to me. I can’t feel the way the super slim tip slips behind my cervix. I’m not surprised, considering just how thin it is, but since I’ve recently developed a taste for that, it’s slightly disappointing.

It’s pretty good for frotting against the tip while holding the dildo in my hand (or with a handle). The tip can go to either side of my clit, or rub straight against it, without trying to veer away, and the small suckers make for good friction that isn’t overwhelming.

Ika along with goodies I received, including a character card, sticker, and two lube samples. I have previously reviewed their lube.

I got my Ika with Dragon Mount, a Vac-U-Lock hole which allows one to attach it to handles and fuck machines. I find it equally convenient to use with my handle or simply thrusting by hand, and the hole doesn’t cause any issues when left empty since the base is so tall. That’s just as well; I don’t find myself using a handle with it often, instead thrusting by hand. As long as I don’t add too much lube, it’s easy enough to hold the base.

The upper half feels like it’s practically slithering when I pull it out, and it has good movement for external frotting. However, the tentacle-y sensation doesn’t quite come across with the lower half.

My one annoyance with Ika is the transition from slender noodle to thick base. Instead of a gradual taper, it bulges out about two-thirds down with a sudden girth increase. It makes for a natural stopping point and requires force to push in the lower portion. Honestly, I was considering a large Ika for review, but was worried about this part… if it’s tedious on the medium Ika, I can imagine how hard it might be to push that inside with large Ika.

If the lower portion were below my usual girth preferences, it would probably go in without too much fuss, and it’s still possible to maintain a consistent thrusting pace anyway. It would just be easier with a steadier taper.

Is Ika worth the hype as the most popular tentacle dildo out there? I would say it depends on what’s most important to you. My first instinct is to say no, because the girth expansion along the lower shaft is a big point against it. However, the upper shaft wiggles in a tentacle-y manner and the suckers are fantastic, along with being readily available on Bad Dragon’s website. If you’re buying from Bad Dragon and want a tentacle, it’s not a bad choice. If you’re considering other shops (whether you simply want to explore more options or you have concerns about Bad Dragon as a company), there are plenty of other tentacles out there that are equally as interesting.

Illex (Paladin Pleasure Sculptors)

Illex from Paladin Pleasure Sculptors is a loooong fella, and I don’t even have the longest version! I’ll start by saying that I understood from the get-go I’d only be able to use around 7″ of it; while I’ve been getting into depth play, Illex doesn’t have the taper I’d need for that, although some people out there can manage it. I can get about four rows of suckers in before it starts to get uncomfortable.

The suckers have really strong texture. Unlike most tentacle dildo suckers, these are wide with textured rims, so the sensation is very different from the more gentle ripple of smooth suckers. It’s a prominent, rough texture that feels much like other very bumpy or rough high-texture dildos. Against my front wall, it’s constant, strong friction, to the point where I would say it’s almost too much even for me.

The length makes Illex well suited for frotting while fucking. I can easily bend it to rub my clit against the suckers on the outside while thrusting inside myself, and that texture is really nice externally. Even though it’s prominent and I normally use softer, less textured grinders, it works out nicely for external stimulation as long as I don’t press it firmly against myself.

I prefer the gentle rippled texture of the smoother side of the tentacle. The texture on that side is subtle enough that it’s difficult to define it well in use, but offers enough friction to feel wonderful, and it slides so nicely. But while I like this side against my front wall, the suckers are unbearable against my more sensitive back wall.

Illex is visually gorgeous (especially in Near Clear) and offers much stronger texture than most other tentacles, which can be great when craving strong texture. However, it doesn’t feel like I imagine a tentacle would, so it doesn’t suit my fantasies in that manner. As much as I love Illex’s design, it unfortunately has limited use for me and I only reach for it when I want very strong texture.

Nereid (Paladin Pleasure Sculptors)

Nereid from Paladin Pleasure Sculptors is a tentacle twisting around itself into a conical shape. While not particularly squirmy, it makes an excellent stretching dildo. The tip goes in easily without bending away and the whole thing remains steady as I sink down onto it.

Nereid is great for riding and sizing up. I can slowly make my way down, taking a little more each time and then sitting on the thickest part I can comfortably take, before lifting up and going back down to take it a little further. It has a similar level of taper to Changeling, and I enjoy both when stretching myself out before taking something thicker.

At the base, it’s just a touch too thick and firm for me. Mainly, it’s the suckers: The bumps are firm enough to be painful at that girth, and I’m not sure I’m sold on the particular shape of these bumps.

Visually, it’s a cool tentacle. In use, however, it doesn’t feel anything like what I’d think of when considering tentacles. While I enjoy the feeling of Nereid as a stretching toy, its appeal as a tentacle is limited to appearance and doesn’t quite translate in use.

Trident V1* (Fantasy Grove/Foxy Moxy)

Trident V1—originally produced by shut-down maker Foxy Moxy, now produced by Fantasy Grove—features three distinct tentacles emerging from the same base. (The tentacles on the V2 have a rounder profile with more consistent shapes and sizes.) I received mine as a gift from Foxy Moxy alongside copies of toys that I had sculpted for them.

Triple penetration is viable, at least to an extent. All three tentacle tips naturally gravitate together when at rest, and I can wrangle all three inside and sink down about halfway before it gets difficult to go down further, considering the spacing between their lower shafts.

Double penetration is much easier, and frees up the third shaft for frotting or anal use, but the sensation doesn’t stand out. The suckers are not all that prominent; I don’t feel them much beyond vague texture. The tentacles don’t necessarily make for a squirmy sensation.

While I don’t find any of the individual tentacles to be tentacle-y, the combination of all three makes for a unique experience. The distance between the shafts means they can sometimes slip out, and that is honestly a lot more exciting with this dildo than others, since it’s as if the tentacle squirms its way out. Also, with all three out, if I crouch above them and ride or sink down, it feels like they’re prodding against me, and eventually one of them will slip inside. It’s really cool and not something I’ve experienced with other dildos, although I’ll admit that the novelty wears off pretty quickly in favor of utility.

Frilly Tentacles

Scylla (Hodge Podge Entourage)

You might do a double-take at the specs on this one: At 3.75″ maximum diameter, medium Scylla from Hodge Podge Entourage blows past dildos that are a challenge for me. It’s flatter than it is wide, though, and it’s meant to fold on itself, which is possible even in the size and firmness that I have.

The slim tip is too wobbly for easy insertion, so I have to guide it with my hand. Once inside, it stays in well enough.

While I can take the entire 11″ (wow), it doesn’t feel like depth play. I don’t feel it slip behind my cervix, although I’m sure it either does that or curls over itself. I don’t feel much of it at all past a couple inches of depth, honestly. I think it’s a combination of the super smooth, glossy surface and the lack of all-around girth near the tip.

The frills vary between intense and unimpressive depending on angle and motion. With the frills angled against my front wall (dildo rotated sideways), I get some decent stimulation against my front wall right where I like it, particularly at the base, and the frills rub against my clit (which is large thanks to growth from T). I can’t do this for long, though, because the combination of girth and firmness irritates my urethral opening.

It really feels like a tentacle when I ride or thrust along half the length at once. A moderate speed with that much length makes it feel like it’s rippling and squirming inside me.

I don’t get much out of it when riding gently, but it is possible to grind against the base for external stimulation. There’s a little too much distance between the tentacle and the base for this to work that well for me.

The bump textures along the tentacle are very mild, although the base itself has plenty of texture. The bulk of the textured sensation from Scylla comes from the frills.

I kind of wish I had sized up and gone softer: Large Scylla in soft firmness 00-30 would be really fun to feel the frills. Sometimes I lose the presence of a softer dildo internally, but I already can’t feel much pressure from Scylla in medium firmness, so that wouldn’t be much of a loss. The appeal is more about the motion of the frills, after all.

Squill (Baphomet’s Workshop)

Squill from Baphomet’s Workshop is a girthy, aquatic tentacle with a thick swell in the middle.

The frills along the outside don’t fold over as easily as Scylla’s. They’re too thick for that, making for a more solid texture that presses against me rather than folds. The thick line of texture isn’t all that comfortable, honestly. I would’ve preferred if it were a slim, shallow ridge to make it more flexible, or if the model were slimmer to make it more comfortable and a little less intense. Even though it’s not pushing my girth limits, the overall shape is designed in a way that makes it very easy for me to feel the frills press against me.

The base makes it easy to hold, but not easy to ride, especially with the short length.

It works pretty nicely as a swell and comfortably locks in place. It’s not as filling as some swells, given the oblong circumference, but that just makes it easier and less intimidating to handle.

Soft firmness was definitely the way to go; it would’ve probably been too uncomfortable for me in medium firmness, since the frills would be even less flexible.

I can’t say that Squill fits my tastes, nor do I find it very tentacle-y in use, but it’s a gorgeous design and might fit some people’s fantasies.

Smooth Tentacles

Alraune (Hodge Podge Entourage)*

Note: My Alraune is a legacy version. Alraune has been reworked and resized. Mine is most similar to the current mini (4.5″ usable length, 1.5″ max diameter, $60 base price). It is also much smaller than my usual preferences.

Alraune from Hodge Podge Entourage is a plant-based tendril emerging from a floral base with tiny nubs on the tip. While curvy, it it’s slim enough to wiggle around, so mobility isn’t going to feature as well as it does for other tentacle dildos.

Some people love high gloss. For me, I’m extremely picky about it: It’s alright with a smooth dildo, but lube won’t stick to it well, so it sometimes feels more like it’s going to cause rubber burn than anything else. With Hodge Podge Entourage’s ultra gloss, I think the finish works alright with smooth dildos but not so much with texture. I find that Alraune does not benefit from the glossy finish: The texture on the head feels super rubbery, making it a little uncomfortable and not fitting my fantasies. I love the idea of frotting against the tip, but unfortunately, the rubbery feeling puts me off.

However, I don’t have any problem with how the shaft feels. It glides in use, particularly with lots of lube. This dildo is a lot smaller than I typically go for, though, so I don’t feel much in use.

Alraune could totally fit some people’s fantasies—there aren’t a lot of plant tentacles out there, and this one is gorgeous—but if high gloss doesn’t tend to work for you on textured dildos, I’d suggest checking out Scylla or possibly Marella instead.

CEPHALLUS (Magic Within)

CEPHALLUS from Magic Within has a sleek, detailed mechanical design that departs from typical tentacle texture while keeping a classic flowy curve and slender tip. The fantasy can be taken further with Magic Within’s spectacular handpainting: On mine, certain details are colored separately and a pattern is painted on part of the base, making this one of the most unique and distinctive pieces in my collection.

The tip is thin and flexible enough to be difficult to insert, even vaginally, but it’s easy enough to guide inside manually with a hand on the tip. Despite the thinness of the tip, it doesn’t feel pokey. I only feel some discomfort if I’m going hard and deep and it happens to bump my cervix, but it’s flexible enough to make that only minimally uncomfortable. Otherwise, I can’t really feel the tip deep inside.

The top half of CEPHALLUS is firm enough and textured enough for me to feel it for the first couple inches, where I’m most sensitive. For the couple inches that I can feel it, I enjoy it at a fast pace with plenty of lube, with the outer side of the curve against my front wall. The mild pressure and moderate texture rub nicely against my front wall just inside the entrance. While I generally prefer girth and this isn’t enough to get me off, I enjoy this more than I expected.

One side of the dildo has metal plates layered on top of each other while the other side has metal bands atop wires and cords. The plate side is surprisingly mild; the hard-looking edges are prominent enough to feel some nice texture, but they don’t stick out much and don’t feel uncomfortable. On the wire side, I mostly feel the bands, with some increased sensation from the wires. The sensation is smooth, more akin to bumps than the noise-like texture of some intensely textured dildos. The wire side offers constant stimulation whereas the plate side is more staggered.

My favorite part of the dildo is about three quarters of the way down, turned so that the zone where the edges of the plates meet the wires presses against my front wall. The curve and texture at that part press perfectly against my favorite spots with the girth that I crave. It’s thick enough to feel comfortably filling at my entrance, although I lack a filled feeling deeper inside.

The curves create the sensation of the tentacle wiggling into me. It doesn’t literally wiggle around, but the sensation makes it really damn easy to imagine, especially if I rotate it slightly while inserting. It only feels this way when moving slowly.

The base is very easy to hold, but awkward to thrust depending on the position. I like to recline when thrusting, but I have to lean back further than usual so that the base doesn’t catch against whatever I’m sitting on. It’s okay for thrusting, but works better for riding, and stays in place well thanks to the wide base. Holding it upside-down by the base, I can frot against the tip, with the wire side having a very nice curve and texture for this.

Corruptor Root (The Wicked Hunt)*

I purchased my Corruptor Root during The Wicked Hunt‘s very first inventory drop in September 2020. The curvy, wood-like design is unique and brings to mind a more magical fantasy than the classic tentacle.

The tip is easy to insert, but too slim to feel well. The smooth surface helps it glide with sufficient lube, and the top half slides inside easily, but the lower portion flares out in a way that makes it a little difficult to fully insert. I don’t feel any of the sculpted texture and there is very little drag.

Both of the curves have a strong angle and press firmly against my G-spot. The upper curve just below the tip is surprisingly prominent, and with the outer side of the lower curve against my front wall, I get pretty firm pressure.

It’s very easy to hold from the larger side of the base, but not the other. With this being a G-spotter from either side, it would’ve been more convenient to have a base that’s easier to hold all around.

While I love the fantasy of a magical root tendril, this dildo unfortunately is more of an awkward G-spotter than anything else.

Eye of the Deep (LoveMuscle Toys)*

I was fortunate enough to win a giveaway from LoveMuscle Toys back in 2021, where I obtained my Eye of the Deep (from inventory) and my custom Tendrils. I particularly fell in love with the colors on Eye of the Deep; I absolutely love the metallic combo. My Eye of the Deep is a legacy version, presumably to be replaced with an updated version at some point.

The plates are smooth while the cables in between are textured. In soft, the only texture I can really feel is the edges of the plates, which is somewhat grating. It takes a lot of lube to smooth it out.

It doesn’t have much of a base to talk about, so I’d hazard against using it for anal play (unless the new version includes a flared base). It also makes it inconvenient to hold and there is little balance for riding.

My biggest gripe with Eye of the Deep is the girth jump in the middle. It’s not a steady increase; the sudden jump requires force to push it in, which interrupts the tentacle fantasy for me. I can only comfortably use the portion above the sudden swell, which has a girth of about 1.5″ diameter before jumping up to the 2.5″ diameter of the lower shaft.

Eye of the Deep is a fun concept, but for practical use, the legacy version doesn’t live up to my expectations. Since I’m not keen on the texture, I don’t expect to enjoy the newer version, but I hope that any future version irons out some of these issues and offers a better experience for those interested in mechanical-design tentacles.

Tendrils (LoveMuscle Toys)*

My Tendrils from LoveMuscle Toys is the original one-size version; the newer version comes in multiple sizes and has a crisper, shinier appearance. The original one-size is similar to the new medium size.

The design is made up of numerous slim tendrils combining into one coherent shape. It’s a unique take on tentacles that diverts from the classic shape while still retaining texture. I personally love the alien appearance, particularly since it plays into my fantasies of the aliens from the video game Prey. The detail on this makes it a little tedious to clean, but like other silicone toys, it just needs soap, water, and friction to clean out the grooves.

Tendrils has texture that runs vertically, something that few other dildos feature. I find that this vertical texture is way less intense than horizontal ribbing. While Tendrils appears to be intensely textured because of all the detail, it’s actually on the more mild side, with more sensation coming from the matte finish than the texture itself.

Tendrils is slim for my usual tastes for vaginal use, so while I enjoy the texture, it doesn’t provide the pressure I like against any of my spots. This may work for some people, but for me, a large would probably work better. (LoveMuscle offers larger sizes now and I’m tempted to get a large one myself.)

The size and low intensity of texture make this the only tentacle that I enjoy for anal use. The firmness and slim tip make it easy to insert, and the texture is smooth and enjoyable, unlike the “sandpaper” feeling I unfortunately get from more intense texture.

It doesn’t wiggle and doesn’t feel particularly tentacle-y, but it’s very nice for anal use and it visually fits my fantasies.

Tentacle Creatures

These dildos aren’t trying to fill the tentacle fantasy the same way as most other tentacle dildos. Instead, they represent creatures who have tentacles, but may not be wiggling those tentacles into you. I won’t be evaluating these based on tentacle-y sensation like the others, but I wanted to highlight them for those who love tentacle designs in all forms.

Cthulhu (Uberrime)

Cthulhu from Uberrime is a squid-like creature in itself, complete with a face with beady eyes and a body of smooth tentacles.

The base is okay to hold for thrusting; the wings and the curled tentacles both offer something to hold, although neither are ideal. In small size, there’s not enough weight in the base to keep it in place while riding.

The textured head offers a lot of stimulation right against my entrance. At the right angle, thrusting puts pressure against my G-spot. It’s filling when used as a swell, but still small enough that it doesn’t quite lock inside.

Anal play is another matter. Despite being on the thicker side for me, the smoothness helps the swell go in very smoothly. Sitting down on it all the way locks it in like a knot, which is very pleasing, particularly with the firmness making the pressure obvious. At that angle, though, the wings bump against my labia, which I’m not keen on, but it’s not a big deal.

The combination of textured head and smooth body isn’t my favorite. For vaginal use, I love the texture of the head but find the smooth body too lacking. For anal use, the texture of the head is so strong that it’s almost painful, but the smooth body is just about perfect.

While the swell is a great shape, Cthulhu unfortunately doesn’t quite fit my tastes due to the texture intensity mismatch of the head and body.

Illithid (Pleasure Forge)

Illithid from Pleasure Forge has a mostly traditional cock shape with balls, a shaft, and a head. The head is squished and alien-looking, the shaft is ribbed, and short tentacles curl around the balls up towards the base of the shaft.

The ribbed texture is excellent, offering constant low-to-moderate intensity stimulation. The size and smoothness of the ribbing makes it just about perfect: Strong enough to be felt, but not so strong that it gets overwhelming. It’s comfortably filling, and the combination of satisfying texture and girth ticks enough boxes for me to reach for this dildo every now and again.

The head, while understated, flares out in a way that gives some nice stimulation deeper inside, helping press against my walls, but the stout frame keeps it from going far enough back to hit my A-spot. A lot of people probably enjoy this length, but I personally wish it were a little longer.

The base is a little too compact for my tastes. Visually, I love the tight, round balls, but there’s not much to speak of for gripping or keeping it stable while riding.

As far as fantasies go, this one’s great for imagining an Illithid, with the combination of humanoid shape and fantasy elements. The tentacles are an excellent touch. For the tentacle portion, that’s pretty much all visual since the tentacles aren’t placed in a way that adds sensation. Personally, I would probably enjoy a large for more intense texture and girth, but the medium size isn’t bad.

Other Notable Tentacles

There are only so many tentacle dildos I can keep in my collection, and as I’ve found out, I’m kind of picky about tentacles in particular. Below are some other notable tentacles on the market which I can’t provide feedback on, but may be of interest to tentacle fans.

Comparisons & Recommendations

After trying out all of these, I’ve picked out my top recommendations for certain categories (and picked out my fave!).

Top Texture

Abyssos has my favorite suckers, with just the right shape and softness to make me feel good without irritating me at all, especially when they press right up against my front wall and G-spot.

Scylla has the most unique and wiggly texture thanks to its frills, which move in a way that none of my other dildos can compare to.

Illex wins for strongest texture. It’s a little more than I prefer on most days, but if you’re looking for a gorgeous tentacle dildo that packs a textured punch, Illex is the one.

Best Customization

Cephallus can be crafted with extremely detailed handpainting thanks to Magic Within’s exceptional skills, and mine is just one example of that. The customization can be expensive, but if you’re after a visual masterpiece, it’s well worth it.

Wandering Bard, Bad Dragon, Fantasy Grove, and Uberrime offer customizable colors for some or all of their models so that you can pick out exactly what colors you want.

The other shops included in this article usually only offer inventory stock, which can be downright gorgeous, so if you don’t have a particular color in mind, it’s worth checking them all out.

Stand-Outs

Trident, with its trio of tentacles, offers the kind of play opportunity that most other tentacle dildos don’t, making multiple penetration relatively easy.

Nereid, with its short stature and quickly thickening girth, is great for stretching one’s limits or prepared for thicker dildos.

Best Fantasy

Abyssos and Ika are both well-suited for a classic tentacle fantasy, both visually and in use, and their suckers are exellent.

Illithid successfully fills the fantasy of a cock from a tentacle-y creature. While the tentacles themselves don’t offer much in use, the visual design is effective and the dildo feels great overall.

Most Tentacle-y Shape

Cephallus is the wiggliest thanks to its shape and its slimness.

Abyssos has the right kind of curve to make it feel like an undulating sensation.

Best Tentacle

Abyssos. I can’t say enough about it. The size is nice and filling, the tip doesn’t taper too much, the shape evokes tentacle-y movement and presses at the right spots inside of me, and the suckers offer delicious texture that doesn’t overwhelm. Void Touched Creations really outdid themselves with this model and I would recommend it to anyone interested in tentacle dildos.
