What The Hell Happened This Year?
Starting out with the rough stuff because I don’t want it to get buried.
Between tariffs, the economy, and increasing regulations on the market and the internet, things are not looking good. A handful of shops have shut down operations, suspended shipping to the EU or US, or suffered a significant financial hit as a result of economic factors scaring off customers. Prices are up and purchases are down.
Erotic Effect, a shop I had been working with, is one of those makers that shut down. Some of their models were rehomed with other shops, which are listed on their website. Sadly, Scott—the guy behind Erotic Effect—passed away shortly after shutting down the shop. He was very active in the community in both collector and maker spaces, and I chatted with him a lot in those channels.
Not everyone gets the chance to wrap up their work the way Scott did. He got to break out the fancy pigments and play around with fun pours since there was no longer a need to hold onto them; he closed up shop in a very organized way; and he got to see the love people had for him and his work and how much his creations would be missed (a sentiment many people express when a shop shuts down). I’m glad that he had that opportunity—and that he had the chance to craft toys at all and share them with everyone—and grateful that I had the chance to know him.
Scott will be deeply missed.

I’m not gonna lie: This has been a rough year. Some days I just stop and cry. Shit’s hard and everything piles up.
But people are still making beautiful and sexy art. Sex workers and artists keep making erotic works and pushing back against bills demanding invasive age verification or curtailing adult freedoms online. Americans are calling their reps to support our rights and fight bad internet bills. New sex toy makers are starting up their own shops, established makers are picking up new models, and we’re seeing innovation, creativity, and community support. There’s so much love for trans people in some communities I’m in that it almost makes me cry for good reasons.
Within and beyond adult online spaces, we have to do what we can to support each other. We need to keep moving forward and keep sharing joy and human connection where we can to make the world just a little brighter, and remember the people who have walked along us on our journeys.
Stats and Faves
Most Viewed Article (From Any Time):
My most-read post in 2025 was 9 Fantasy Masturbators & How They Work with T-dicks, which was posted mid-2024. I’m extremely pleased with this since it means that trans men on HRT (and others with similar anatomy) are finding the info they need to make an informed decision. I love fullsize penetrables more than mini ones, so it’s really cool that this article was a hit.
The next most viewed articles were Transmasc Inspired Toys, Guide to Fantasy Sex Toys, and Classic Cocks from Fantasy Shops.
Most Viewed Article (From 2025):
The most-read post from 2025 was the Black Friday article. No surprise there, considering it was designed as a resource more than a review.
The next most viewed articles from 2025 were the reviews for njoy Pure Wand, Gender X Body Kisses, and Kraken Monster Lab Heart Grinders.

Penetrables. It’s not even close.

Biggest Dildo:
Fantasy Grove Changeling is the thickest and possibly heaviest dildo that I reviewed this year, capping at 3.1″ diameter (9.8″ circumference), with the thickest part I was able to manage being 2.8″ diameter (9″ circumference).
Prettiest Toy:
Fantasy Grove Utun is filled with shimmer and strings of color in the beautiful “Prancing with Unicorns” colorway. I’m a sucker for the depth of translucent silicone and this one’s downright gorgeous in a way that can’t be captured on camera.
Surprise Fave:
Xenocat Artifacts Kane gave me a very positive introduction to depth play. I got it for the fantasy of a monster who was too big—not one who was just right for going a whopping 10″ deep.

Best Butt Toy:
SquidlyCo Faepod is the toy that made me love butt plugs (and is driving me to search for a knot that’ll work for my butt). I’ve never been that big on anal, but I’m still exploring what I like, and this one makes for good inspiration.
G-Spot Slammers:
Fantasy Grove Changeling rocks right into my G-spot surprisingly well. Magic Within TERLUS‘s swell instantly pressed right against my G-spot the first time I tried it. And the njoy Pure Wand made me squirt for the first time.
Most Used
Neotori Thorvald’s Prism mini pen is great for pumping my clit to make it bigger, alongside feeling good, and I’m in the habit of using it for pumping half the time when I play.
Xenocat Artifacts Kane was my most used fantasy dildo this year. Love that big boy.
Biggest Letdown:
Gender X Body Kisses was awful enough to inspire me to write a review as soon as I could and loud enough to ensure that I never use it again.
Review Recap
Knots & Flares
For a fantasy toy reviewer, I really haven’t reviewed a lot of knots or flares lately, have I? I might have to change that in 2026.
Fantasy Grove Utun and Uncover Creations Werewolf II tick my boxes nicely, and they’re thick enough to fill me up. None of these have made it into my regular rotation, but I break them out on occasion.

Human & Humanoid
Humanoid dildos tend to work pretty well for me, so it’s no surprise that I covered some of those this year. In addition to reviewing two mainstream dual-density dildos, I covered two vampires and two Hunters… There’s gotta be a fanfic like that somewhere.
Two of these are in my rotation for anal play—Uberrime Nocturna is great for warm-up and Vulpini Design Hunter is just what I like—while Wandering Bard Astarion and SHAFT Flexskin Model N have asymmetrical curves that work really well for me for vaginal play.

Swells
I covered a decent range of swells this year. Magic Within TERLUS is my fave of this set and one of my fave toys in general, with a thick, filling swell. Erotic Effect Krothur (now to be produced by Midnight Menagerie) is practically a huge plug, making it another great design for when I want a solid stretch.

Dragons, Demons, Fae, and Furries
We’ve got some solid toys in this section. Fantasy Grove Changeling is great for a stretch and hammering that G-spot; Xenocat Artifacts Kane is 10/10 for depth play and a monster fantasy; and Master4Fancy ÖLZIITEI and Kraken Monster Lab Love Hurts have stellar spikes. And I had a lot of fun writing my most researched, most serious article of the year: Jack(alope) from Fantasy Grove.

Plugs
Squidly Co. Faepod feels so good it has inspired me to look into other butt plugs and knots for anal play. Eros Foundry’s Flicker V5 is a challenging, delightful stretch for vaginal play. Plugs aren’t usually my thing, but these are excellent.

Vibes & Mainstream
I finally reviewed the iconic njoy Pure Wand (and figured out how to squirt) along with one of my fave vibes, the Satisfyer Pro 3+ (and made a chart of air pulse/”clit suction” vibe opening sizes). Those are both part of my regular rotation.
I was really excited to try Gender X Body Kisses, but found it absolutely atrocious in use: It’s more painful than pleasant, and no fan could cover up that sound.

Here’s Where I Show Off My Fancy New Dildos
I’ve slowed down my collecting a lot, but I still picked up a number of toys this year alongside the ones I got for review. (I couldn’t resist joining in on #2025SiliconeWrapped.)
The toys in the collage below came from these indie and fantasy toy shops: All Night Toys, Bad Dragon, Eros Foundry, Fantasy Grove, Funkit Toys, Hodge Podge Entourage, HumpToy, Kraken Monster Lab, Lust Demonics, Magic Within, Master4Fancy, Midnight Menagerie, Nyoon, Phreak, Strange Bedfellas, Tentickle Toys, Uberrime, Vulpini Design, Wandering Bard Toys, and Xenocat Artifacts. There are also some toys I received from affiliated retailers The Sex Shed, b-Vibe, and TabuToys, or other retailers.
Some of these sit on my shelves while others are already regulars in my toy bag. I’m looking forward to reviewing some of these next year!

Coming in 2026
I posted a lot of individual toy reviews in 2025. I still have a lot of my collection that I want to work through, so more of those are on the way, but I also have plans to write some big group reviews again. Namely, tentacle dildos (because a comparison post can help identify what traits make a tentacle great) and retired toys (because I want to review them, but don’t want to invest the same amount of time into each one as I do for toys that are still available).
The below reviews are already in the works and planned for posting in the first half of 2026:
- Midnight Menagerie Myrddin
- Bad Dragon Orochi
- Tentacle Dildos Group Review
- Retired Toys Group Review
These are on my list or in the works, but not set in stone:
- All Night Toys BullBoyFF
- Bad Dragon Nova & Breeder
- Fantasy Grove Amanita
- Fantasy Grove Avir
- Hodge Podge Entourage Beni
- Nü Sensuelle Nubii Evie
- Nyoon Clock
- Wandering Bard Dire Wolf
- Wandering Bard Mage Hand
After seeing how many people want to read reviews for penetrables, I’m thinking about reviewing a few more of those! I’ve got some in my collection that haven’t been reviewed, but I’m also keeping my eyes open for makers that want to collaborate.
If you’ve got any requests for reviews of toys I own (or even toys I don’t), let me know in the comments or on Bluesky!
Thank You
Thank you for being around this space. Whether you’re a regular reader, engaged in the fantasy/indie sex toy collecting community, someone who designs or crafts toys yourself, or stumbled across my blog by chance, I appreciate you. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without the amazing readers, community, and makers out there.
And a big shout-out to the folks who use my affiliate links: You’re fantastic and I wish I could send you all a thank you note whenever you do that.
Here’s to 2026: Looking forward to the good, trudging through the bad, and sticking together as we keep pushing forward.
